When Sri Lanka faced one of the worst economic crises in its history (2022), with no dollars in the central bank, the nation was left wondering how to rebuild. That’s when the idea for EasyEcom was born.

I’m Aneslin Bala, the Founder & CEO of EasyEcom, and my dream is to empower Sri Lankans to become part of the solution by bringing in much-needed foreign currency through export-driven e-commerce.

The Problem We Faced

As our country struggled, families and entrepreneurs struggled to start businesses. E-commerce was seen as a way out, but the tools were either too expensive or too complex or didn’t meet the needs of local sellers. Worse, many platforms didn’t understand the unique challenges of our market—like integrating local payment gateways or managing shipping for both local and global customers.

This wasn’t just a business problem. An economic challenge kept Sri Lanka from thriving in the global marketplace. That’s where EasyEcom steps in.

The Vision Behind Easy Ecom

I built EasyEcom with a simple yet powerful goal: to create a platform that enables any Sri Lankan to start their own e-commerce business, tap into international markets, and help rebuild our economy.

My vision is for EasyEcom customers to collectively contribute at least 1% of Sri Lanka’s GDP by running export-oriented businesses that bring in dollars from across the globe.
